Sea YachtsYacht brokerage, Palm Beach

Yacht buyer’s broker, Palm Beach

A yacht buyer’s broker who is also a captain.

I represent buyers of yachts from $150K and up, from the first search to closing and beyond. Licensed captain since 1998, licensed yacht broker since 2008.

The seller has a broker. You should too.

The broker named on a listing works for the seller. Their job is to get the seller the highest price and the best terms. When you call them directly, nobody in the deal is working for you.

As your buyer’s broker, I work only for you, the way an attorney represents a client. You get the facts about the boat and the deal, not a sales pitch.

What a captain on your side looks for

Diesel engines and machinery

What a healthy engine room looks like, what a tired one costs, and the problems a seller would rather you didn’t notice.

Navigation and boat handling

Sea trials run by a captain, not a salesperson. I’ll tell you how she handles and teach you to run her after closing.

Survey and sea trial

Where surveyors look, and what their findings are worth at the negotiating table.

Build quality and refit

Hulls, rigging, paint and joinery. What quality work looks like and what a refit really costs.

Value and resale

I’ve bought and resold boats with my own money. I know what holds its value and what turns into a money pit.

Contracts and closing

Offers, contingencies, escrow, title and documentation, handled with the care of a legal matter.

How buying with me works

  1. Consultation

We talk through how you’ll use the boat, your budget, and your timeframe.

  2. Search the whole market

I look at every yacht for sale, not only my listings, and send you a short list worth your time.

  3. Inspect and evaluate

I go aboard with you, or for you, and tell you honestly what I see.

  4. Offer and negotiation

I write the offer, set the contingencies, and negotiate on your behalf.

  5. Survey and sea trial

I attend, read the findings, and put them to work in the negotiation.

  6. Closing and after

Escrow, title and documentation, then captain instruction, a full systems orientation, and delivery within Florida.

Straight answers

What does buyer representation cost me?

Usually nothing. In most purchases the buyer’s broker is paid from the commission the seller has already agreed to. I’ll explain exactly how it works for your boat before you sign anything.

Can you represent me on a boat listed with another broker?

Yes. Most yachts are listed for co-brokerage, so I can represent you on almost any boat on the market.

What size and price of yacht do you work with?

Yachts from $150,000 and up, for private clients anywhere in the world.

I already found a boat. Is it too late?

No. Send me the listing before you make an offer and I’ll give you my honest opinion, at no cost and no obligation.

Talk it through with me

A short call costs nothing. You'll speak with me directly, and I'll reply to every inquiry within one business day.
