Buying from overseas and exports

Buy a yacht in Florida from anywhere in the world.

I represent overseas buyers on the ground in Florida: inspections, survey and sea trial, closing, and export to your home port. Licensed captain since 1998, licensed yacht broker since 2008.

Florida has the best selection of yachts in the world.

You don’t need to be here to buy one well. Overseas buyers face the biggest risk in any yacht purchase: buying a boat they haven’t seen, from a broker who represents the seller.

I act as your eyes, hands and advocate on the ground in Florida, from the first inspection to the day your yacht is loaded for shipment to your home port.

How buying from overseas works

  1. Search and short list

We agree on what you’re looking for, and I search the whole market, not only my listings.

  2. I inspect for you

I go aboard the boats on your short list and report back honestly, with photos and video.

  3. Offer and negotiation

I write the offer, set the contingencies and negotiate on your behalf.

  4. I attend survey and sea trial

A captain aboard for you, reading the surveyor’s findings and putting them to work in the negotiation.

  5. I manage the closing

Contract, escrow, title and documentation, handled remotely with you at every step.

  6. I handle the export

Export paperwork and delivery to the loading point for shipment to your home port.

Why buyers abroad use a buyer’s broker

Someone who works for you

The listing broker represents the seller. I represent you, usually at no cost to you.

Honest condition reports

Photos can hide a lot. I tell you what I see in the engine room, the bilge and the systems.

One point of contact

Surveyors, yards, escrow and the export are coordinated through me, so you’re not managing a crew of strangers from abroad.

Best way to reach you

Phone, text, email or WhatsApp, whatever works across your time zone.

Straight answers

Do I need to come to Florida to buy a yacht?

No. I can inspect boats, attend survey and sea trial, and manage closing and export on your behalf. Many buyers still like to see their final choice in person, and I’ll arrange that if you do.

What does it cost to have you represent me?

Buyer representation is usually paid from the commission the seller has already agreed to, so it typically costs you nothing. Export logistics and shipping are separate costs, and I’ll walk you through them before you commit.

Which countries do you work with?

I work with private clients anywhere in the world. Tell me where the yacht is going and we’ll plan from there.

What size of yacht do you help with?

Yachts from $150,000 and up.

Talk it through with me

A short call costs nothing. You'll speak with me directly, and I'll reply to every inquiry within one business day.
